Abstract

This short paper presents a case study in which I take a social justice approach to technical and professional communication (TPC) by applying the “antenarrative” method described by Jones et al. [4] to an undergraduate online-asynchronous (OA) technical writing course. I consider the opportunities presented by the OA format when engaging with issues of social justice and inclusivity. I also examine how diversity and difference among students might be experienced differently in an OA environment. This case study contributes to TPC research and pedagogy by providing practical examples of the application of social justice theory to the growing body of research on OA teaching.
