Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) generations are expected to have an important role in the near future. However, the power output from the PV is random and intermittent in nature. Therefore, the PV generation poses many challenges to the power system operation. To evaluate impacts of the behavior of PV on the power system operation, we have so far proposed effective use of pumped storage hydro power plant (PSHPP). In the previous research, it takes too much computation time to obtain an optimal scheduling of PHSPP.
