For another thing, this teaching model is very necessary and even urgent for the scale and characteristic of Chinese current and even future college English teaching, especially it can make up for the weaknesses arising from our current family and school education. Abstract

Many people take it for granted that the college English teaching mode for “leaner autonomy” is nothing but to ask students to learn to self-study with the student-centered class teaching. In fact, the scientific college English teaching mode for “leaner autonomy” is not just the case at all. It is the product of modern high technology and the embodiment of the theory of “leaner autonomy” in college English teaching. What's more, with its unique course design and teaching management, it has to be based on those teachers who are skillful at computer network and software. For another thing, this teaching model is very necessary and even urgent for the scale and characteristic of Chinese current and even future college English teaching, especially it can make up for the weaknesses arising from our current family and school education. In addition, the education philosophy involved in this teaching model completely agrees with the ultimate goal of education - developing students' ability of learning autonomy.
论“学习者自主”的大学英语教学模式
很多人想当然地认为,“学习者自主”的大学英语教学模式,就是以学生为中心的课堂教学,让学生学会自主学习。事实上,科学的大学英语教学模式“学习者自主”根本不是个例。它是现代高新技术的产物,是“学习者自主”理论在大学英语教学中的体现。此外,由于其独特的课程设计和教学管理,它必须以熟练使用计算机网络和软件的教师为基础。另一方面,从我国当前乃至未来大学英语教学的规模和特点来看,这种教学模式是非常必要的,甚至是迫切的,特别是它可以弥补我国目前家庭和学校教育的不足。此外,这种教学模式所涉及的教育理念完全符合教育的最终目的——培养学生自主学习的能力。
