The resulting design is such that the filtering error system is asymptotically stable and meets the prescribed H∞ norm constraint in normal case as well as in sensor failure case. What's worth mentioning is that the paper proposes a new method which combines S-procedure approach to solve the sector-bounded nonlinearities. A sufficient condition for the existence of such a filter is obtained by using appropriate Lyapunov functional and linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques. In addition, based on this result, a convex LMIbased optimization method is developed to optimize the H∞ performance.
