Abstract
Experimental results demonstrating practical performance capabilities and limitations on the cross-coupled phase-locked loop (CCPLL) interference canceller with closed loop amplitude control are presented. Hardware was designed and constructed to demonstrate its potential in suppressing CW, AM. FM. AM/FM and pulsed RF interference. Practical rules of design are also advanced. In addition to the experimental study. computer aided analysis of the defining set of coupled nonlinear differential equations was also conducted to derive "stability regions" which reveal the range of loop parameters over which successful cancellation of the interferer and demodulation of the desired signal can be assured.
