To support kidney function, hemodialysis as renal replacement therapy can be done to treat symptoms and signs due to a low glomerular filtration rate. Therapy is done by draining blood out of the body using a blood pump with 0.1 % error with flowrate 300 ml/minute applied, to test blood pump duration, 1-minute to 5-minute duration is applied and given an average error of 0.162 %, and heparin is streamed during hemodialysis using a syringe pump with 2.476 % error for 1-minute to 5-minute testing.
