Abstract

Summary form only given. We report on a two-dimensional simulation of the electrical discharge produced in air at 1 atm pressure. We use the MAGIC particle in cell code (PIC) to calculate the electric field, particle motion, impact ionization, and the momentum transferred to the neutral air by the ions and electrons.
