Abstract
Abstract National drug use surveys indicate adolescents are experimenting with drugs at increasingly earlier ages, including “hard” drugs such as heroin. Abuse of crystal methamphetamine is particularly on the rise. Alcohol misuse on college campuses continues to be a nationwide problem. National drug control policies, however, have not focused extensively on education- and prevention-based interventions. The Internet provides a convenient alternative for disseminating information about substance use geared to youth. Included in this article are annotated references to youth-focused Web-based substance use resources, some designed and written specifically by youth for youth.
