Abstract
In order to gain usage of solar power the produced energy from solar panels has to go through a DC-DC converter. The DC-DC converter regulates and monitors the output voltage provided to the battery. The converter uses a pair of super-fast switching MOS transistors to regulate the output voltage and an inductance and a capacitor to store that energy during the off half cycle. To control the fast switching of the transistors an integrated circuit is used. The LM5146 used in this project can turn off and on the transistors up to 1 billion times per second, can monitor the output current and shut itself down if the supplied voltage in below a certain point. In the following papers it's presented the designing of such DC-DC converter. The verification of the designing has been made with computer simulations and solved equations.
