Wind power energy is one of the most popular among these. A varying speed wind turbine coupled to a PMSG is linked to the electric network via a frequency changer (fully controlled). The frequency changer is composed of a stator side converter with appropriate controller, a DC link (capacitor) and a converter with control system. For stability consideration, many control topologies are adopted and tested under different operating conditions. However all have some merits and demerits. Dynamic performance is the basic concern for the smooth operation of the electric network. A detailed Cascaded controlled converter system where several PI controllers are used in this paper. Whale optimization technique is used on grid side inverter.
