Abstract

The design, fabrication and measurement of a broad/dual-band terahertz (THz) metamaterial based on gallium arsenide substrate are presented. The proposed Modified Split-Ring Resonator (MSRR) provides two distinct strong electrically resonances near 0.515 THz and 0.74 THz. Effective medium parameters show negative values of permittivity during two broad frequency bands of 0.492-0.693 THz and 0.727-0.811 THz.
