A Narrative Study on the Stress Coping Method of Dementia Elderly Dependents from the Movie

Abstract

This study reconstructed the narrative of how Kim Seong-chil, a dementia elderly who cannot remember his family of the movie , recognizes him as a dementia patient through his three first meetings with his wife, who is a pancreatic cancer terminal. In addition, the stress coping method of dependents for the elderly with dementia was explored. As a result of the study, topics such as 'Sault D'Damour', 'Friendly Stranger', 'Every New Moment', and 'The Meaning of Family' were derived. Therefore, this study will be useful in the future dependent counseling scene for the elderly with dementia, and will provide a basis for developing a strategy that can be practiced in the dependent family's stress coping method.
