Abstract
This paper presents analysis of the electromagnetic scattering from the grounded dielectric slab loaded with periodic conducting strip grating using modal expansions. It is shown that this structure can act as an either artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) or artificial electric conductor (AEC) depending on the polarization of the incident wave. This study encompasses the dependence of AMC or AEC characteristics on the angle, plane and polarization of the incident wave.
