Abstract

Gout is one of the utmost encountered inflammatory arthritis in clinical practice. The purpose of this article is to review the pathophysiology, management and epidemiology of acute and chronic gout. The occurrence of gout throughout the globe has also been documented. Therapies for pain management during gout have also been discussed. Treatment medications of gout can be mainly classified as uricosurics and uric acid synthesis inhibitors, these are discussed in detail in reference to their pharmacokinetics.
