Abstract

This paper discusses the rule that polymorphic transformation does not occur in heat-resistant steels and alloys. The basic theoretical principles used to analyze the most diverse processes occurring in heat resistant steels and alloys have been analyzed and described. The crystallization process of various alloys, the formation and decomposition of austenite, and the new phase formed during various operations of chemical-heat treatment are described. Extensive experimental data has been widely used to address the issues discussed, which allows us to evaluate and verify the reliability of theoretical conclusions.
