First, we confirmed the effectiveness of the treatment by use of our developed antenna. Next, the investigation of the heating performances of the coaxial-slot antenna for treatment of bile duct carcinoma was shown and the possibility of the treatment was described. Abstract
This paper describes the applications of the coaxial-slot antenna to the interstitial and intracavitary microwave hyperthermia. First, we confirmed the effectiveness of the treatment by use of our developed antenna. Next, the investigation of the heating performances of the coaxial-slot antenna for treatment of bile duct carcinoma was shown and the possibility of the treatment was described. As a further study, we will have much more cases of actual treatments by the interstitial microwave hyperthermia and will study the antennas for intracavitary heating aiming at practical use.
