Special report careers and relationships: The interpersonal intricacies of maintaining a dual‐career relationship

Abstract

The papers included in this Special Report were originally presented on a Speech Communication Association Dimension Series Program. The purpose of that program was to highlight the advantages and benefits of examining the dual‐career couple from a communication perspective. This Special Report includes summaries of three papers, each of which addresses the role of the communication process in negotiating shared understandings about concerns central to the partners of dual‐career relationships. By way of summarizing, the guest editor suggests areas in which the dual‐career lifestyle might be further examined from a communication perspective.
