Abstract

The new trends of custom power devices (CPD) has vastly improved due to cost effective and improved reactive power management. The CPD-like hybrid active filter (HAF) is proposed in this literature using various current control approaches to enhance power quality (PQ) by controlling harmonics reduction and managing reactive power. With steady-state and transient situations, three different controlling techniques are adopted in this research. Performance of the proposed approaches' is evaluated using the MATLAB/Simulink tool, and the overall percentage of total harmonic distortions (THD) is calculated following IEEE harmonic standards.
