Abstract
On the basis of the continuum damage mechanics, a new low cycle fatigue damage accumulation model, which takes the coupling effect of damage and strain into account, is proposed. The model has some practical values because of its clear physical meanings. With the analysis of low-cycle test data for a kind of material often used in aero engine, we know that the prediction data derived from this new model and the test data are in good agreement. Moreover, this new model is more accurate and has apparent superiority in fatigue life prediction and description of fatigue damage accumulation by comparing with the traditional linear model.
