Abstract

The EMC training of electrical engineers who work on shipboard electrical and electronic equipment is discussed. It is noted that lectures, laboratory exercises, and personal computer simulation give students the necessary knowledge and skill. The computer simulation of transients, noise, induced voltages in shipboard electric system, surge propagation in cables, transformers, and filters is suitable for EMC training and engineering calculations. Laboratory exercises help students acquire skill in measuring, testing, and estimating solutions.<>
