Palekh local-story world-museum by the eyes of a famous historian (the reflections on the manuscript of V. T. Kotov "Palekh. Forgotten. Unknown")

Abstract

The article is a review of the manuscript of an unpublished book by the Palekh art critic and local historian, director of the State Museum of Palekh Art (GMPI) and teacher of the Palekh Art School V. T. Kotov. Some of the author's ideas are analyzed, which have not lost their relevance to the present day — the issues of creating the Palekh Museum of Local Lore and the Institute for the Study of the History and Culture of the Palekh village-academy. It is concluded that creative local history and cultural initiatives should be available to a wide range of readers, local historians, students and schoolchildren.
