Abstract
Bots automate tasks in software engineering projects and interact with software developers. Bots have been proposed, for example, for testing, maintenance, and automating bug fixes. The research community has been discussing these bots in the International Workshop on Bots in Software Engineering (BotSE), collocated with ICSE (the International Conference on Software Engineering). The workshop participants share experiences and challenges, discuss new usages of bots, and map out future directions. In this paper, we present a summary of the 3rd edition of the workshop, which comprised nine papers, one journal-first presentation, and two keynotes, followed by extensive discussion. More details can be found at http://botse.org/
