Abstract

Short current and voltage pulse lengths imply the presence of high-frequency harmonics in the windings and cores of pulse transformers. These high-frequency components give rise to high losses in the windings and core and usually become the dominant parameter in limiting the maximum repetition rate that can be handled by the transformer.
