Abstract

We have characterized the spatial sensitivity of a dual-frequency fiber laser sensor by measuring its response to a fixed mass along the fiber. The sensitivity to a fixed mass is enhanced to 19.36 MHz/g (or equivalently 1.97 GHz/N) by optimizing the cavity length and and loading at around the position with maximum light intensity.
