Effects of slot-depth, slot-width and slot-position on the operating frequency of the conical antenna are investigated. Annular slots on the antenna produced stopbands with anti-resonant frequencies that are inversely proportional to the depth of the slots such that deeper slot produced anti-resonance at lower frequency band while the relatively shallow slot produced anti-resonance in a higher frequency band. The increase in the slot-width caused a corresponding increase in the bandwidth of the stopband but the slot-depth has a stronger effect on the operating frequency of the cone. Abstract
