Abstract
Recently there has been great interest in applying photoacoustic (PA) spectroscopy to the determination of relative and absolute quantum efficiencies in luminescent solids.1-4 We have carried out a series of experiments using PA techniques to measure the quantum efficiency of the 2E→4A2 transition in ruby as a function of temperature from 100 to 300K.
