Abstract

Different types of polarizing matrices can be chosen dynamically to construct a large polarizing matrix with improved polarization performance. All polarizing matrices with the same size can be classified into several types based on certain parameters, such as the Bhattacharyya parameters. In this paper, a formula to calculate the Bhattacharyya parameters for a given polarizing matrix is deduced and it is convenient to calculate. Classification rules, some classification results and classification comparisons are also described. Numerical results show that a large polarizing matrix which applies more than one classifications can have better polarization performance.
