The performance parameters of optical communication system in the atmospheric channel are analyzed by the analytic expression of the coherent parameters of partially coherent beams. Numerical simulation shows that the atmospheric communication is carried out by partially coherent light under the same conditions of atmospheric turbulence and transmission distance. Abstract
