Abstract
This study aims to identify teachers' teaching practices in implementing the subject of Plant Vocational Skills to students with learning disabilities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design as well as data collection methods through interviews with special education teachers who teach Plant Vocational Skills to students with learning disabilities. A total of three teachers were selected based on a purposive sampling technique in three secondary schools in the district of Kuala Selangor, Selangor. The results of the study found that teaching practices based on Slavin's Model (1994) can influence the effectiveness of special education teachers' teaching and learning on Plant Vocational Skills from four elements, namely teaching quality, teaching level, incentives and time. The findings of the study show that special education teachers are able to use a variety of methods that match the ability of students with learning disabilities, using positive and negative reinforcement methods to motivate students with learning disabilities and teachers are able to manage teaching time effectively. In conclusion, the teacher's teaching practice based on the Slavin Model is capable of becoming a benchmark for special education teachers in teaching the subject of Plant Vocational Skills to students with learning disabilities. The implications of the study show that teaching practices based on the Slavin Model can improve the quality of teaching and learning among teachers who teach Plant Vocational Skills.
