Abstract

Religious tourism has emerged to realize religious beliefs. Muslims' visits to Mecca, Jews to Jerusalem, Christians to Jerusalem and Rome are among the examples of religious tourism. Religious tourism, which is not limited to these centers, has different motivations. Accessing the sacred and experiencing a sacred place are among the primary motivations. Religious centers are classified in religious tourism. In particular, structures with historical value and functions based on religious foundations have been evaluated within the scope of religious tourism. Our country has hosted societies with different beliefs throughout history. Religious structures inherited from these societies that have survived to the present day are important assets of religious tourism. With the Religious Tourism Project carried out by the Ministry of Culture, structures belonging to monotheistic religions that can be visited in all provinces have been determined. Erzurum is a city that makes important contributions to religious tourism. In Erzurum, which came under Turkish rule with the Battle of Manzikert, many artifacts belonging to Muslim societies have survived to the present day. The artifacts as religious tourism building groups are tombs and cupolas, madrasas, mosques. The number of artifacts within the scope of building groups is quite high. However, they were determined as religious tourism structures by the Ministry; The Double Minaret Madrasa, Yakutiye Madrasa, Ulu (Atabey) Mosque and Three Dome form the scope of the study. In the study, which aims to contribute to religious tourism with the cooperation of different disciplines, firstly, data about the history and architectural features of the buildings are given. Then, promotional cards were created for the buildings, which include the historical and architectural features that are aimed to be used within the scope of religious tourism.
