Deterministically polarized fluorescence from single dye molecules aligned in liquid crystal host

Abstract

We demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge deterministically polarized fluorescence from single dye molecules. Planar aligned nematic liquid crystal hosts provide deterministic alignment of single dye molecules in a preferred direction.
