Abstract

In this paper, we contribute to the growing effort in the community to standardize the in-car interaction space. We present an interaction language for steering wheel interfaces with force-enabled touch input. Based on an elicitation study, the language maps core force interactions to common in-car commands. The results also shed light onto mental models of force touch interaction on the steering wheel and provide guidelines for future interfaces.
