Abstract
The article presents the results of a study of electrical parameters and indicators of pumping unit's power quality installed in the electrolyte shop at an industrial enterprise of non-ferrous metallurgy. In the course of a comprehensive energy audit, non-sinusoidality's coefficients of the higher harmonic components in terms of current and voltage for pumps were determined. Non-sinusoidality'presence is due to the presence of nonlinear power receivers at the enterprise - gate converters and induction furnaces involved in the technological process of the electrolyte shop. Along with this, a set of measures has been developed to optimize the operation of pumping units, taking into account economic efficiency. Measures include replacing outdated low-performance pumps with high-efficiency pumps, improving pump loading, regulating pump operation, reducing pipeline resistance, eliminating leaks, and reducing power consumption by improving cooling systems.
