Abstract

The decoding complexity of block coded M-QAM can be reduced by reducing the dimensionality of the modulation constellation. The aim of this paper is to present a coding method that improves the performance in terms of asymptotic coding gain and bandwidth efficiency of BCM applied to M-QAM constellations, where M is an odd power 2.
