Edwin Bailey Elliott, 1851 - 1937

Abstract

Edwin Bailey Elliott, who was born at Oxford in 1851, was the son of Edwin Litch field Elliott, and was educated at Magdalen College School, from which he obtained a demyship at Magdalen College. He graduated in 1873 after gaining first-class honours in mathematics, both in moderations and in the final school, and in 1874 was awarded the senior university mathematical scholarship. In the same year he was elected Fellow and mathematical tutor at the Queen’s College, an office which he held for well-nigh twenty years.
