The article establishes as well as gives a brief analysis of the main research directions. The author focuses particularly on psycholinguoculturology (PLC) as a new discipline. The article analyzes from the standpoint of PLC the phenomenon of the basic metaphor UP on the material of the Russian linguoculture. The author makes an attempt to show – on the basis of data from various sciences – the universal nature of the basic metaphor under consideration and some of the main possible ways of its realization. Abstract
The author presents linguoculturology as an integrative science in a historical perspective.
