Education for Sustainable Development and Climate Change: Pedagogical study of the social movement Fridays For Future Salamanca

Abstract

Climate change is one of the most worrying environmental problems in today's society. In a 2018 report, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) states that its consequences will grow exponentially with the increasing average temperature of the Earth. It is clear that a series of policies and measure, s must be implemented to modify the system as we know it and the dependence on fossil fuels. Motivated by the existing crisis and believing in the key role that education plays as part of the solution, this project seeks to observe the way in which the social and participatory movement to fight against climate chance Fridays For Future Salamanca can help improving the environmental education of its members thanks to the level of participation in the different initiatives and activities of the movement.
