Abstract
An appreciable increase in the broadcasting station network and a deterioration of the electromagnetic situation have resulted in the necessity to update the receiving antennas owing to the high requirements for broadband, directionality and various operational and consumer needs. Nowadays various constructions of folded-dipole antennas and circular antennas have been investigated in depth and used widely. However, the perspective of closed antenna improvement consists of a compromise between advantages and shortcoming of the boundary geometric version. This can be achieved by optimization of loop antenna shapes. In the present work, the approximate physico-mathematical model of an elliptical loop antenna with shunts is presented. This model is based on decomposition of the antenna current on equivalent in-phase and out-of-phase components. The analytical associations necessary for an evaluation of the radiation field and input impedance of the antenna were obtained.
