Abstract

In this paper, the torque developed in the synchronous generator under the loaded condition is numerically simulated for various types of electrical faults. The dq0 approach is used to model synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus. The Adams fourth order predictor-corrector method with starter as fourth order Runge-Kutta method is used to numerically simulate the torque developed by the synchronous generator connected to load using MATLAB. The numerical results revealed that electromagnetic torque is most severe in synchronization fault followed by three phase fault, line to ground fault and line to line fault.
