Abstract

Herbal formulations are commonly prescribed by Ayurveda physicians. They are having least side effects. Kashaya is one such preparation which has water soluble extracts of multiple herbal ingredients. Panchatikta kashaya is a decoction of five bitter herbs – Guduchi(Tinosporia cordifolia) , Vasaka( Adhatoda vasica), Katuki (Picrorhiza kurroa), Bhunimba (Andrographis paniculata) and Nimba twak ( Azadirachta indica). These drugs are having tikta rasa (bitter taste), laghu (light) rooksha (rough) guna, dipana (appetizer) , pachana (digestives) , pittahara , krimighna ( killing of worms / parasites) , raktashodhska (blood purifier) and kaphapitta nashaka action. It is indicated in Kasa (cough), Shwasa (bronchial asthma), Jwara (fever), Krimi (worms), madhumeha (diabetes), kushtha (skin diseases) , sthoulya (obesity) , Vatarakta and pittaja disorders . Panchatikta kashaya can be given in multiple diseases with suitable adjuvant Ayurveda formulations which are disease specific in action. The present paper highlights about the clinical indications of Panchatikta kashaya in a scientific and experiential view.
从经验和科学的角度看中医的临床适应症
草药配方通常由阿育吠陀医生开出。它们的副作用最小。卡沙亚就是这样一种制剂,它含有多种草药成分的水溶性提取物。Panchatikta kashaya是五种苦味草药的汤剂- Guduchi(Tinosporia cordifolia), Vasaka(Adhatoda vasica), Katuki (Picrorhiza kurroa), Bhunimba(穿心莲)和Nimba twak(印楝)。这些药物具有tikta rasa(苦味),laghu(清淡)rooksha(粗糙)guna, dipana(开胃),pachana(消化),pittahara, krimighna(杀死蠕虫/寄生虫),raktashodhska(血液净化剂)和kaphapitta nashaka的作用。它适用于Kasa(咳嗽),Shwasa(支气管哮喘),Jwara(发烧),Krimi(蠕虫),madhumeha(糖尿病),kushtha(皮肤病),sthoulya(肥胖),Vatarakta和pittaja疾病。Panchatikta kashaya可以在多种疾病中给予适当的辅助阿育吠陀配方,其作用是疾病特异性的。本文从科学的角度和经验的角度,重点介绍了中药的临床适应症。
