Abstract

For the purpose of reducing environmental vibrations along the Shinkansen super-express track, we constructed trial concrete piers of a rigid-frame bridge to increase its cross-section. We made comparisons of data as measured and derived by the running of Shinkansen trains with dynamic simulation results by two or three-dimensional numerical analyses before and after the trial construction of piers. We studied the change of vibration property and adaptability of the numerical model.
