Maximising ERP capabilities in order to preparate Consolidated Financial Statements- a practical application

Abstract

This research aims to develop a way to enhance the use of available computer resources to facilitate the process of consolidation, adopting, for this purpose, the action-research methodology, with experiment in a real environment.Based on the ERP adopted in the company studied ("Primavera" software) along with the day-to-day computing tool that is Microsoft Excel, it will be tried to put in evidence that it is possible to get consolidated financial statements in a more automated way.In such way, routine tasks without any added value will be reduced, turning the process more efficient, and therefore came toward to one of the requirements of the financial information which is its timeliness.
