Abstract
A promising design of a fifth wheel coupling with a spring shock absorber for a timber tractor with a semitrailer is proposed. The process of functioning of the proposed fifth wheel coupling when starting, accelerating and braking a timber tractor with a semitrailer is considered. The positive effect achieved with the practical use of the proposed fifth wheel coupling is described.
