Abstract

A square aperture wideband transmitarray antenna (TA) with orbital angular momentum (OAM) pattern for millimeter communications is analyzed and designed. The subwavelength element consists of two parts: the polarization grids and the phase shift element that is an open resonant ring with a 45°-twisted angle. The top and bottom metallic layers are grids which are orthogonal to each other. Simulation results show that an ideal OAM beam can be successfully obtained.
