Abstract

Staffing your recovery unit, having meetings, emphasizing communication, and trust are all important parts of running a successful recovery room. Above all, the patients must feel safe and this calm atmosphere will be enhanced when all the staff are happy at work. Cultural and religious sensitivities are important; these are addressed here as well as the way to involve carers and relatives in the early stages of the patient’s awakening.
