Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of determining the stage in the larvae of T. molitor best in dealing with styrofoam waste. The method used in this study using T. molitor of 10 tails each aged 60 days, 70 days, 80 days, 90 days, 100 days and 120 days. Styrofoam is administered as much as 12 mg each treatment. The results of this study indicate that the P6 larvae aged 120 prove that the effective feeding time for larvae is at 16.00-17.00 WIB with a mass of 0.86 mg. The high amount of styrofoam lost for 12 hours is directly proportional to the growth rate. Then the survival rate reaches more than 70%. Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant effect of all treatments on the amount of styrofoam loss, growth rate and liveliness (P <0.05). Styrofoam utilization as feed will have a positive impact on the decrease of styrofoam waste amount.
