Abstract

An irregular elliptical monopole antenna is studied. The antenna operates from 2.85 to 17.43GHz fully covering the ultra-wide-band (UWB, 3.1-10.6GHz). The total size of the UWB antenna is $28\mathbf{mm}\times 40\mathbf{mm}\times 1.6\mathbf{mm}$. To eliminate potential interferences in the bands of WLAN (5.15-5.85GHz), and X-band satellite communication (7.9-8.4GHz), diamond-shaped slots are etched on the antenna, with parameters carefully optimized in full wave simulations.
