Empowerment of Woman Farmer Group in Production of Mushroom Media Waste Based Biofertilizer

Abstract

Production of environmentally friendly biofertilizer based on mushroom media and cattle waste is a community empowerment program of CSR PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. Plant Cirebon. Cooperate with BPP Ciwaringin sub district, this program implemented in Indah Makmur a Woman Farmer Group (WFG) in Kedung Bunder Village. The aim of the program were: 1) Improve skills of management and members of WFG in biofertilizer production, 2) Create product innovation for WFG Indah Makmur as well as bussiness opportunities, 3) Support family food security in vegetable cultivation, 4) Reduce mushrom waste media and manure produced from mushroom and cattle farmer. The various activity include : 1) Study by Research, Training and Community Empowerment Center, 2) Training consist of introduction, benefit and application, 3) Assistance in biofertilizer production and marketing. Result study showed that the biofertilizer product in accordance with existing rules and standards (Peraturan Menteri Pertanian No. 70/Permentan/SR.140/10/2011 and SNI 19-7030-2004). Involvement of WFG to participate in training, implement and disseminate the knowledge of biofertilizer production based on mushroom media and cattle waste showed strong commitment and skill improvement of its management and members. Biofertilizer become “superior product” of WFG Indah makmur, that produced regularly and so it increased the WFG revenue.
