Abstract

The present paper is a study of the overhead contact line oscillations issued by the raising of the pantograph. Electric arc may occur if the pantograph or the wire bounces after the contact closing. The analytic solution of the taut wire oscillation and a relation between its amplitude and the pantograph raising speed are deduced. Droppers reflected waves are further analyzed.
