Abstract

In-vehicle optical communication has a 20-year history. This paper introduces the trends and future applications focusing on interconnection devices and related international standards. Cost competitive fiber optic solutions against copper solutions are the expected technology to realize electromagnetic interference-free high-data rate communication for achieving autonomous driving systems in the future.
